Flocks of Type

The anniversary calendar for the School of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University "Flocks of type" is a calendar that was designed as a promotional item and as a present for the guests of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the school. The design idea was to push the limits of typography on an object that we use every day. This calendar design was inspired by the movement of flocks of migrating birds in the sky, and by the typographic experiments from Swiss and German designers of the 60’s and 70’s, namely Emil Ruder and Wolfgang Weingart.
