With extreme traffic congestion and lack of EMT services in Kenya, responses to accident scenes can be delayed for hours, drastically reducing survival rates in critical cases. So MyDawa, Nairobi's largest medical delivery service, launched FIRST BODA, a certified initiative in collaboration with Red Cross to train Boda-Boda (delivery) riders, who are already present on every road and intersection, in basic EMT first-aid skills. Armed with specially crafted medical kits, their constant presence and agility allows them to skip traffic and provide immediate care before help arrives.
