Social media is associated with significant mental health harms for adolescents,” said Former U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek H. Murthy. The 36 Months campaign is an advocacy-led earned media movement driving legislative change. By mobilising parents, experts, and policymakers, Australia became the first country to raise the social media access age from 13 to 16. Through news engagement, emotional storytelling, and advocacy, it sparked a global conversation. In 2025 expands to Japan, NZ, EU, and UK.
