Brico Letterpress Type System for Together: The Community Letterpress Mural Project

The design & creation of a flexible letterpress type system, Brico, to enable the People Powered Press to engage & collaborate with a wide range of community groups around Bradford. We undertook the design of the type system to meet the challenge of creating giant distinctive, hand-printed murals made with community members & displayed in public spaces on a shoestring budget. The murals are an expression of the PPP’s mission to amplify local voices through letterpress at an unprecedented scale, with 150+ community groups & 4000+ individuals involved in creating murals & associated works.
