Description
Amnesty International’s print campaign exposes the destruction of human rights facing Afghan women. Since the Taliban retook power in 2021, women’s rights have been stripped away daily—losing the freedom to walk alone in a park, sing in public, or even look out of their own windows. The campaign uses striking images of an Afghan woman, shrouded in darkness, holding an animal with more freedom than she has. At first, only the animal is visible, mirroring how women are erased from Afghan society. Reading the text, viewers realize the one suffering discrimination is not the animal.
